Timeline
1919
Henry Duininck, age 16, goes to work on the road with a team of horses and slip scraper for $5 / day building roads south of Raymond and Lake Lillian, Minnesota.

1920s
The "birth" of Duininck Brothers Construction in 1926, founded by brothers - Henry and Amos Duininck. First generation (G1) Duininck ownership is formed when Wilbur joins brothers in 1928.

1932
A grading contract near Cook, Minnesota, spells bankruptcy for Duininck Bros. They reorganize and build roads closer to home (Prinsburg) in Renville County under engineer Dave Gilchrist, who later joined in partnership to form "Duininck Brothers and Gilchrist." Cost to grade a new road is $375 per mile.

1940s
United States Department of Defense contract involves work on airports in Topeka, KS; Sioux Falls, SD; and Longville, TX. A dryer is purchased, and the first hot mix plant, paver, roller and crusher added to the equipment fleet, which includes 7 single axle trucks.

1950s
Second generation (G2) Duininck owners join the business: Curt, Willis, Norm, Harris, Lee and Larry.

1960s
The owner group commits to an annual practice of giving a percentage of earnings to local and global ministries.

1975
Formed Prinsburg Tile Company, a producer of concrete tile.

1982
Built 362 houses in Trinidad. Minnkota Building Systems, DB&G Trinidad & Trinidata Housing Ltd. formed.

1982
Became a partner in Heli-Jet, a company providing a variety of helicopter services. Headquarter location in Portland, Oregon.

1983
SFO Helicopter Airlines, Inc. established. Provided interconnection air shuttle for passengers between the major airline terminals in the San Fransisco Bay area.

1984
Formation of Hart Ranch, a family vacation resort business located in the Rapid City, South Dakota, area.

1985
Duininck Bros. Inc. expands its headquarters location and operation to Texas, performing heavy civil work in highway and government airfield construction.

1985
George Rakes, Inc. acquired – steel and plastic pipeline applications in the oil and gas industry.

1986
Prinsburg Tile Co becomes Prinsco. Concrete tile manufacturing began to transition to plastic in 1981, and by 1985, the company exclusively produced plastic.

1987
Formation of Indian Harvest Specialtifoods, a distributer and processor of specialty grains. The company was later renamed InHarvest.

1988
Duininck Golf is formed, a division of Duininck Inc. Pictured is Little Crow Golf Resort of New London, Minnesota.

1988-2003
Third generation (G3) Duininck owners join and all work in the business: Jason, Chris, Kyle, Jamie, Jeremy, Judd, Ryan, and Trevor.

2000-2004
Prinsco acquires two manufacturing companies in Illinois and Iowa, establishing Prinsco as a Midwest leader in agricultural drainage. Adding capabilities and capacity set in motion a move into the stormwater market.

2003
Duininck wins the Sheldon G. Hayes award for a Texas Department of Transportation project. Annually, the National Asphalt Pavement Association names the best pavement projects in the nation. The following year – one of the projects is selected for this prestigious paving award in the United States, two years prior.

2004
The portfolio expands with the acquisition of Central Allied Company - today known as Duininck Concrete.

2010
Event held in Willmar, Minnesota, to honor G2 Duininck owners and spouses.

2014
Duininck Companies Central Team established to provide Information Services (I/S), Enterprise Risk Management, Human Resources, and Finance Services to support the operational companies.

2014
Third generation (G3) owners commit to documenting purpose, values, and behaviors that support the values.

2018
First annual Duininck Family Summit held in Minneapolis. Fourth generation (G4) Duininck Family members, age 16 and older, are formally introduced to an overview of all the companies in the portfolio. Some family members meet each other for the very first time.

2021
Midwest Outdoor Resorts Director of Operations, Gina Rose, is awarded the Coast to Coast Operations Manager of the Year (West) Award.

2021
The portfolio changes with the divestiture of Midwest Outdoor Resorts and InHarvest.

2022
Duininck Companies receives the Willmar Foundation Community Building Award for demonstrating commitment to community through corporate support, partnerships, and employee engagement.

2022
The portfolio is shaped into three distinct industry sectors: Water Management, Construction & Materials, and Real Estate.

2023
Hart Ranch Golf Club is voted #1 Public Golf Course in South Dakota by Golfweek magazine.

2023
Prinsco expands to Valdosta, Georgia as part of continued expansion in the stormwater market.

2024
Duininck Companies receives 2024 Minnesota Family Business Award.
